WHO Statistical Information System (WHOSIS) Metadata

WHO Statistical Information System (WHOSIS) presents the updated metadata, selected on the basis of quality & availability. It cover over 50 core health indicators, relevance to global health & comparability across member nations.

The six major areas of indicators are: mortality & burden of disease, health service coverage, risk factors, health system inputs, differentials in health outcome & coverage, as well as basic socio-demographic statistics.

They have the most recent & comprehensive health data on all of the 193 WHO Member States. These are published in the World Health Statistics that is released in May of each year.

• Life expectancy at birth (years)
• Healthy life expectancy (HALE) at birth (years)
• Probability of dying aged 15-60 years per 1 000 population (adult mortality rate)
