Open Medicine has published an editorial of Open science, open access and open source software at Open Medicine. The authors are Sally Murray and friends as Open Medicine Team itself.
Open access to and wide use of research data will enhance the quality and productivity of science systems worldwide.
As an open access journal, Open Medicine believe that free and timely access to research results will beneficial. Journal subscriptions usually available for institution. Maybe it's relatively too expensive for personal subscription. What is open science? After the open access on Open Medicine, there is open science. Actually open science version of Open Medicine. Since another Open Science (Project) is about:
The OpenScience project is dedicated to writing and releasing free and Open Source scientific software. We are a group of scientists, mathematicians and engineers who want to encourage a collaborative environment in which science can be pursued by anyone who is inspired to discover something new about the natural world. Much of the work of science depends on having appropriate tools available to analyze experimental data and to interract with theoretical models. Powerful computers are now cheap enough so that significant processing power is within reach of many people. The missing piece of the puzzle is software that lets the scientist choose between models and make sense of his or her observations. That is where the OpenScience project can help (About Open Source Project).
As mentioned on Open Medicine, open science idea is refer to make the research data, both published and unpublished, be freely available. So there is no more copyright, intellectual property rights or patents. :)

Another OPEN movement

They said, after the explosion of the open source operating systems (e.g. GNU/Linux) and open source softwares, followed by more than 2600 journals have been converted to open access. Studies are finding that articles published in open access journals are cited more widely.. :) Datas really accessible and widely open.. Open Medicine using open source software for their journal management, blog and e-publishing. Currently, Open Medicine use Open Journal Systems from The Public Knowledge Project. Open Journal Systems will adopt XML (Extensible Markaup Language) standard form for the automated layout.

What kind of collaboration will be on Open Data?

Researchers will share their data openly. There will be a new insights from another expertise findings. As just Kernel Linux is build by Linux lover from around the world. :) Authors on Open Medicine have an authority to share or not to share their data research. And I agree, the next step is not about 'share or not to share' debates, but how data will be shared.. I think there will be another Open 'something' anymore... Just unessential weblog

Indeed, influence OpenSource to the medic area will be a huge effort for increasing research on future.

About another 'open something' for next step, to have a transparent and open source information on medical equipment distribution in Indonesia is on my wish list. :)

Well, before check out, sure I have to say congrats for your new nice place with dot com domain.

    Good luck.

thank you for coming to my new home, bos.. :)
about that open, will be great if we have a an open research (human object maybe more difficult than medical software) in medical setting..

Sorry, for some reasons (sometimes due to sp*ms attack), the comment form is closed at this time. If You have any suggestions, please contact me. Thank you.
