Firefox 3 Pledge for World Record

June 1, 2008 – 12:01 am by Dani Iswara

Firefox is an open source, the award-winning web browser, web standards rule, faster, fully customizable, rich of add-ons, multi platforms and more secure. Fx (see my blog post, Firefox Abbreviation is Fx or fx, not FF) user community make a pledge to get Fx 3 in the Download Day, some time in June 2008. It helps set a Guinness World Record. Go to this page, Firefox 3 pledge. Pledging today!

I pledge to get Firefox 3 during Download Day to set the Guinness World Record for Most Software Downloaded in 24 Hours.

Firefox 3 World Record

They’ll let us know when Fx 3 goes live via email.
See also country and region data on the pledge map. It is based on Internet Protocol (IP) address.

In the Download Day, we will attempt to set a new world record for the most software downloads in 24 hours. It will occur on Fx 3 launch day, should be in June this year. We’ll get a customized certificate by downloading from Headquarters of Download Day. By pledging Fx, we receive reminder email to notify us of the live date. Or follow “mozillafirefox” on Twitter.

Spread this words. Share to our friends, colleagues, anyone and everyone to participate. Write on your blog. Put the spread button. Create the video, etc.

Valid Download Rules

The judges and the World Records team then make a review to the download logs and validate the record attempt. At least 1 (one) week later we’ll know the final result.
Carefully, only download 1 (one) copy of Firefox per computer machine. Don’t cheating.
Mozilla try to make sure the download is valid for the record attempt. It will only count fully & completely transmitted, not a partial / complete updates. In other name, its fresh install!

They ask us to take own pictures! There will be video footage & photographs of the community members on Download Fests. :)
The email registration from the pledging will be used to confirm our registration, send download reminders when Fx 3 launches, and to let us know the results of the record attempt.
