W3C Validator updated to version 0.8.3
August 14, 2008 – 3:00 pm by Dani IswaraThe new version (v0.8.3) of markup validator by W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) has been released on August 8, 2008. See W3C Markup Validator v0.8.3.
Changes on version 0.8.3:
- Bug Fix: in version 0.8.2, revalidation of an uploaded file was broken (missing markup in the HTML form)
- Updates: Added support for XHTML Basic 1.1, XHTML Mobile Profiles (1.0, 1.1 and 1.2) and the historical HTML i18n
- Bug Fix: the validator won’t override a given document type with itself
- Conformance: The validator now warns about inconsistent public/system identifiers combinations
- API: The custom HTTP headers in validator responses now also include the number of warnings
- Experimental Feature: added the new option to send specific Accept-Charset and User-Agent headers, in addition to Accept and Accept-Language in version 0.8.2.
- Experimental Feature: the validator can output its results as JSON.
- Documentation: Some documentation updates
- Development: New automated support and regression test suite
From their weblog, Markup Validator Updated, finally I know the reason why they put the warning down for X/HTML 1.1 validation:
When checking one resource set up with the Accept hack for XHTML, the validator would be served content as text/html, and, since that is not supposed to happen, the validator would yield a warning stating, in essence “are you certain you really want to serve XHTML 1.1 content as text/html?”
Caused by users request, so they said:
It may have been a mere warning, but it made a lot, lot, lot of people anxious and upset. So, by popular demand – and also because the XHTML working group are preparing a revised note on XHTML and media types − the warning is gone.
Validome.org is still as strict as ever.
I guest I have to do an update to my Indonesian list — web compilation of web standard based on W3C (X/HTML & CSS) and ATRC (accessibility checker), Situs Indonesia Penganut Standar Web (Dani Iswara .Net). But I can’t edit that old post due to random error message:

wah, baru saja belajar bahasa CSS dan html, ternyata w3c sudah me-release versi terbaru. saya sering mencoba utk menguji validitas css dan html-nya, pak dani. kayaknya sudah ndak ada yang error maupun dapat peringatan. tapi saya masih kesulitan utk memperbaiki validitas feed-nya. belum tahu gimana caranya. makasih infonya, pak.

utk validasi feed-nya tinggal ngikuti pesan kesalahan yg ada, mis. mengikuti standar penulisan
language(mis en-us; bawaan wp sptnya ngga valid??)..penggunaan tag
scriptdi iklan sptnya emang agak susah pak..tp kl sebagian besar pembaca feed masi bs menerima dgn baik, sptnya tdk terlalu bermasalah..

Mas saya mau share lagi. Tolong saya ya. Mas dulu khan saya pakai tag asal asalan. Semua tag saya yang judulnya hampir 180-an dan berisi hampir sama dengan judul kategory dan judul postingnya. Di disitemap saya hampir terdapat 300 link tapi yang keindex google hanya 50 link-an, dan pada dashboard - google webmaster katanya isinya sama semua. Saat itu juga setiap harinya hampir 100 pengunjungan yang datang.
Saya berubah ikiran akhirnya saya membuang semua tag saya. 1 hari 2 hari visitor saya meningkat pesat dan itu karena google. setelah dua hari itu visitor saya hilang semua mas. Dikarenakan google melorotkan peringkat saya.
Padahal site yang keindx google sekarang adalah 315 link-an.
Tolong dong mas solusinya. site saya free-friendster.com

utk yg di robots.txt di-disallow kl ngga mau ter-index..

sitemap.xml kl ngga salah format standar utk ngabarin mesin pencari tiap ada perubahan di halaman web..
saya kayaknya masi pake default (plugin google sitemap wp)..
