Basic Website Review (BWR) is a website with a great tool. It can measure the basic elements of your good search engine experiences and practices. They try to educate people with the free tool. I found the link from the UITest.com site.

BWR’s analysis show us the websites code optimization. Go to the site. Put your URL or website address on their box. Press the check button and wait.

The result page will show the score. It measure the elements of:

  • title
  • page description
  • keywords
  • h1 count
  • h1 tags
  • images
  • HTML size
  • load time
  • body text
  • links

with the green, yellow/orange or red mark on the right side for each elements reviewed.

Based on the test, these are my opinions:

  • the title, page description, keywords & h1 tag should have a good chain & description (SEO ‘law’)
  • non-decorative images must have alt tags (accessibility reason)
  • website (homepage) with a reasonable size will load faster (accessibility & usability factors)
  • is body text related to the text ratio? At least 200-300 words are enough (text-based content rules)
  • no farm links (SEO related).

We may request a reassessment of the website every 30 days. Just click the reassess button. The page result will update within 5 minutes with the resfreshed details.

If you are a Firefox + web developer extension user, edit the ‘Tools’ section >> ‘Add’ >> ‘Tool type’ >> ‘URL’, add this line:

So, what’s your score? Is this tool useful? :)

*) this is another draft due to my bad Internet connection…
