After reading a blog post, visitors (human) likely to leave a comment. This note is my point of view of usable factors which can help commenters or commentators.
- Date/time of the post
- Author’s name and permalink (especially for multi authors)
- Last updated time
- Post categories and/or tags
- Subscribe to post
- Comment and trackback counts separately
- Jump to comment section
- Related/similar/random posts
- Comment replying
- Comment author numbering
- Comment author permalink
- Reply button.
- Reply button with quotes.
Just like forums? - What You See is What You Get (WYSIWYG)/visual comment editor
- Smilies for fun
- Different style for blog author.
- (Accessible and) usable comment form.
Read on Usability of Comment Form Design. - Comment preview
- Jump to another sections.
Something like navigation to go to older and newer entries, previous and next posts, or top page.
Another idea are welcome.
