Some on line services are more private and secure than others. You should read the terms of agreement before using them. We like to use www.housedoc.us, which is an on line communications portal between patients and physicians, that’s HIPAA compliant, free and easy to use.I tried to visit the website. It has the secure registration forms. There is only an e-mail address to contact the web administrator. No contact form. No team management profiles or photos. I could not find any external links. Then, I asked Google. Using the keywords:
"housedoc.us".
I saw similar comments anywhere, between 2008-2009, especially on physician and medical related websites. Their promotion comments are like some sort of a manual/human sp*ms.
Sometimes with the name Georg, GeorgeL, Lester, Norman, anonymous, etc.
Samples are shown below:
There is actually a private and secure web based service for email communications between physicians and patients,www.housedoc.us. Its free, easy to use, HIPAA compliant, and open to all physicians including in the VA system.
Hi. It does pay. Saves on secretarial time, taking messages, aswering service, etc. But more importantly patients love it, given all the problems with the phone. We also use www.housedoc.us.
Would be nice to have some agreed upon standards by which to evaluate doctors, so that its not just by whim. For example, doctors should get points for utilizaing new techologies to communicate with patiets, such as the on line service www.housedoc.us, instead of having to play phone tag. The service is free, easy to use, and is compliant with HIPAA and AMA regulations. Some of
whois said, the domain is owned/registered by somebody with the name Norman Latov, based on Irvington city, New York, US.
Google works, "norman latov" "housedoc.us". It only one item on search result:
There is a web service that offer on line communications with your physician, which is safer than receiving advice from someone who doesn’t know you or nerver examined you . Its at http://www.housedoc.us. Its also encripted, so that the information is confidential, and can’t be used by anyone else. — Norman LatovAnother search method said, Norman Latov is a real.
Norman Latov, M.D., Ph.D. is Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience, and Director of the Peripheral Neuropathy Clinical and Research Center at the Weill Medical College of Cornell University. The doctor's office address is in Madison Avenue, New York, US. What is the relationship between that site and Norman Latov (or Norman Latov, MD)? Their admin answered that they would prefer not to get into those issues. And they realized that their promotion are like some sort of sp*m comments. They will stop doing it. I asked them via e-mails. Their site do not have some user's review or third parties trusted e.g. by HONcode (Health on the Net of conduct) accreditation. Those are just an example that consumer trust in a health website is important. Maybe it is a:
- wrong way of Search Engine Optimization (SEO),
- nice service to help online physician-patient relationship.
