Web accessibility reviews by professionals are still rare in Indonesia. Please correct me. I think website accessibility is not a popular issue here. Not yet. At least, most of weblog design competitions, government and education websites, do not have its requirements. Do we have web accessibility law?

But I knew some web authors in Indonesia put their respect on widely accessible site. Actually, they already know the theory. Some Indonesian websites have posts about web standard, usability, and accessibility. Not as much as Search Engine Optimization (SEO) topics. As far as I know, some reviews about accessible website are available in Indonesian.

In the past, I found 3-4 websites that provide free evaluation on web accessibility by human, not machine (only). One of them is Accessites.org–a group of web accessibility gurus– with its Universal Design Award. And now, one of its team member, collaborating with Practical eCommerce website, starting The Accessibility Review.

A monthly series that offers a candid assessment of an online store, providing insight for ecommerce merchants to improve the accessibility of their websites.

Joseph C. Dolson, known as Joe Dolson, one of web accessibility guru, will review your ecommerce websites submission. For free! This is not a paid consulting review. It would be superficial. But it will help website owners/authors to make their sites more accessible. Especially for disabled people.

Do you think accessible and standard compliance website is boring? Just like other opinion mentioned on Why Validate? (in bahasa Indonesia).

Just unessential weblog

    just my 2 cents

Mungkin pemain lama seperti Bhinneka.com mulai mengadaptasi accessibility?

Mungkin mereka(para developer eCommerce) kurang memikirkan usability kah? Atau eCommercenya tanpa review pengguna? CMIIW

    fanari,
jika bisa sih, aksesibel seluas-luasnya oleh manusia normal, mesin telusur Internet, termasuk screen reader (difabel), voice browser, small screen, touch screen, keyboard only users, dan pemakai Internet lambat. tergantung target pengunjung. atau ekstremnya, tanpa diskriminasi. :)

Berarti saya nggak perlu membuang-buang waktu untuk aksesibilitas ya, kalau target pengunjung saya bukan untuk difabel

    fanari,

    Bagol,
normatif defacto, selama belum ada hukum sejenis section 508, disability discrimination act (DDA).
