On the Web, users usually did not recognize the affiliate uniform resource language (URL) in short-URL. The hidden businesses are there. Click the links and/or do some transaction, then Web author could get any amount of money. From usability point of view, users should know
the purpose of the links. Users may have a chance to know where short-URL will point to. You may put this URL problem as a non-
Descriptive Short-URL.
In this case, Web author is physician/doctor. While patient got their drug recipes, they have a chance, the rights, to ask some informaton related to:
- Is there any other cheaper, generic, or more potent drug option?
- Is that only the choice?
Patient would not need to ask to the physician like this, "Doc, will you get some bonus for the special recipes?"
Or some honest doctors will tell the patient that they will get something from pharmacies for the special recipes. Would it be?
Hidden URLs (and recipes) is
hidden business also, I think. :)
