This additional navigation usually placed at the top or bottom of each single post or archive content. They should be labeled with right sign for the
older entries, and left sign for the
newer entries.
Why not using
previous and
next labels on pagination?
Older and newer labels are more usable, I think.
Back to the right and left signs. Psychologically, while reading a book, left will refer to the cover or start page. Right sign will refer to the end of the book. If you were using the new WordPress pagination, with the
first | ‹‹ | [numbers] | ›› | last labels, the way of thinking is the same. Right sign for the older pages/posts, left sign for the newer pages/posts.
